Summer Bingo

Dear Sea Crest Families,

Pin by Simple Stories on Hello Summer | Summer clipart, Hello summer, Clip artAt Sea Crest, we strive to provide homework that is thoughtful and challenges the student to support the work we do in the classroom each and every day. When we discussed summer assignments as a team, we wanted to give your child something that really represented Sea Crest. It needed to have choice, flexibility, representation from all subjects, interactive activities, and opportunities to collaborate and share as a family.

Just like everything else, once we had our “why” we needed to settle on our “how”. As a team, we created a school wide BINGO game for your child to complete over the course of the summer. The classic bingo rules apply. Students can work horizontal, vertical, diagonal, or for the truly competitive, go for “blackout”. Use the journal provided to document all your activities and as a place to share your summer memories.

Each teacher has created a BINGO board specific for their grade. At Sea Crest, a student's education not only includes language arts and math but also science, social studies, art, music, PE, Spanish, makers and more. You will also see boxes that represent our social emotional learning (SEL) themes. Upper School students (5th-8th) are required to complete the Humanities and Math activities. Students will hand these in during the first week of school.

In the fall, students will hand in completed bingo cards to share their summer adventures with their class. Additionally, if a student completes the card, they will get a small prize. We will also pull a bingo card for a class prize raffle. Bingo boards are posted below for families to access hyperlinks and digital materials.

We hope bingo will be a fun, educational, and interactive way to keep your child engaged in learning this summer.
